Language is only one of the many carriers of human emotions. When it comes to expressing emotion, language is impoverished in that the language itself cannot readily manifest whatever emotion a person wants to express. Compared to music, spoken words seem to be impoverished because of their limited variability. What makes music a great carrier of emotion is its musicality and forms. Music, without musicality, is noise. As a musician, I have been always amazed by the vitality of music in different forms, as I perform pieces written by various composers. Similar to language, different forms of music serve different purposes, and composers may chose a form that best suits his/her experience and current state of mind.

Other than music, other things that transcend music include art, science, technology, and mathematics.
